ROLE OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Reviser, the translator translates all documents of the highest quality into two of the three languages and ensures the facilitation of communication from one language to the other.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES

·       Translate different types of documents into French, English, and Portuguese languages.

·       Contribute to the design and development of different types of documents and tools in French, English, and Portuguese.

·       Ensure the editing of produced documents.

·       Contribute to the development of documentation of the translation process.

·       Contribute to the recruitment process, including through the design, implementation, and evaluation of verbal and written language tests.

·       Supervise and strengthens the capacity of other translators recruited occasionally.

·       Perform any other tasks and functions requested by the supervisor.

 

FORMATION ACADEMIQUE ET EXPERIENCES

 

·       Have a Master’s level university degree in Linguistics, Literature, Social Sciences or Communication or in a similar field obtained from a university or a recognized training institution.

·       Have at least seven (7) years of professional experience acquired in the field of translation, preferably within the framework of an international organization or in a company specializing in translation/interpretation.

·       Have perfect mastery of two of the three languages (French, English and Portuguese) and have a demonstrated ability to translate and ensure interpretation from each of their languages into the other two.

·       Be able to use modern translation tools and methods.

·       Have excellent communication skills, listen to others, do not hesitate to ask for clarification, be open to dialogue and adapt your level of expression to the audience.

·       Have a proven ability to work in dynamic contexts. Demonstrate great availability and a strong ability to adapt to work needs.

·       Good knowledge of IT tools, use of the Internet and social networks.

  • Fluency in one of the three ECOWAS official languages (English, French & Portuguese)

  • Ability to considers external circumstances, factors and trends when organizing project activities to ensure the best outcomes.
