ROLE OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Head of Project Preparation Division, The Programme Assistant assists the Programme Managers in all project preparation activities.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Participates in the review of proposals.

·       Coordinating the scheduling and validation of all workshops.

·       Carry out any other tasks requested by line management.

 

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Public Works, Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering, Telecommunications/Electronics Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or Finance from a university of recognized standing.

·       A minimum of 2 years progressively demonstrated work experience in applied infrastructure analysis in a developing country context.

·       Basic knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to monitoring and evaluation of infrastructure related projects or programmes.

·       Basic knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods including familiarity with the use of various research techniques and technology.

·       Proficiency in information communication technologies (ICT).

·       Fluency in oral and written expressions in one of the ECOWAS official languages of the Community (English, French & Portuguese). Knowledge of an additional one will be an added advantage.

·       Ability to contribute and/or lead on projects as per accepted project management standards and techniques, to co-ordinate contributions by others to set and meet deadlines.

·       Ability to identify, collect and assess indicators to monitor performance and to take proactive remedial action as required.
