Office of the President

President of the ECOWAS Commission

The Cabinet of the Presidency of the ECOWAS Commission took on a new status with the adoption by the Council of Ministers in December 1999, positioned for the added responsibilities that go with the functions of a Commission.

The Cabinet is headed by a Director who acts as a principal adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission. He assists in monitoring and following up on activities in support of the Presidency and the President and carries out any tasks as assigned by the President.

The Director of Cabinet also reviews documents, monitors meetings and organizes working sessions between the President, staff, other officials and visitors while acting as Secretary of the Management Committee of the Commission.
