ROLE OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Principal Officer, Administration, Logistics & Maintenance this officer is responsible for the provision of administrative support in the areas of all activities related to the maintenance of the ECOWAS Commission headquarters, the two annexes, the residence of the President and other Civil Works.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Organize the maintenance and Repair of all Air Conditions in the ECOWAS Commission, the Annexes, and the residence Of the President. · Handles All Plumbing/Water Problems and Billings in the ECOWAS Commission, the Annexes, and the Residence of the President. · Manage maintenance services associated contracts. · Monitor the implementation of all maintenance service contracts to ensure contracts are delivered in the best interest of the Commission. · Ensuring the proper functioning with an uninterruptable supply of electrical and technical equipment, and communications systems. · Supervising the installation of the electricity network and equipment where necessary. · Ensure stable power distribution from generators to the buildings and proper functioning of generators, electrical heating systems and other electrical equipment. · Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE · Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized University. · 3 years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance repair and services. · knowledge of local construction regulations on health and safety and ability to maintain contacts with local companies and contractors. · Knowledge of the local legislation and technical standards related to the construction, electricity and technical systems installed. · Knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment. · Familiarity with administrative and financial policies and procedures related to maintenance services and procedures in a governmental or international organization. AGE LIMIT Be below 50 years old. This provision does not apply to internal candidates.
