ROLE OVERVIEW Under the supervision of the Principal Program Officer, Statistical Harmonization and Data management, the incumbent shall work on the production of all regional frameworks and create all relevant regional databases for management and publication of quality harmonized statistics.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Contribute to the development of regional frameworks for regional statistics. · Contribute to the development of regional databases. · Collecting, processing, publishing, and disseminating statistics, and responding to user requirements. · Perform data quality and consistency control on statistics and contributing to development of statistics in the region. · Advise ECOWAS Member States on data quality issues. · Participate in databases creation, facilitating access to relevant databases and updating statistics databases. · Perform data analysis and reporting, using sound statistical tools. · Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor. · Prepare statistical publication. · Training of member States Statisticians in data analysis and database management. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Statistics, or any related field from a recognized University. · 5 years’ experience in statistics, managing, publishing, and disseminating data. · Knowledge of terminological and reference research techniques with ability to use all sources of reference and information to conduct complex research and analyse data. · Knowledge of data management and statistical harmonization methodologies. · knowledge of design and implementation of database and data dissemination computer systems and software. · Knowledge in the use of statistical and econometric methods and programs in economic development research, and ability to integrate multidisciplinary methodologies. · Knowledge in macroeconomic research methodology as well as in the design and management of research projects, conceptualization, and publication. · Knowledge of economic development issues and policies of West African countries and availability of professional publications. · Ability to apply statistical methods to the collection and management of statistical information. · Ability to analyse statistical data and make report for decision making.

Knowledge of an additional one will be an added advantage. · Ability to develop and implement an individual action plan for achieving specific work goals. · identify, organize, and monitor tasks throughout to facilitate execution. · Ability to contribute and/or lead on projects as per accepted project management standards and techniques, to co-ordinate contributions by others to set and meet deadlines. · Ability to organize work, set priorities, and work within timelines, giving attention to details, stakeholders, indicators, and risks. · Ability to identify, collect and assess indicators to monitor performance and to take proactive remedial action as required.
