is convening a second Steering Committee meeting on 10 November 2022.
ROGEAP will hold its second steering committee meeting via videoconference on Thursday, 10 No-vember 2022. The meeting, which will be chaired by Mr Sediko Douka, ECOWAS Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy and Digitalisation and Chairman of ROGEAP Steering Committee, will have in attendance Mr Toussaint Badolo, Director of Enterprises and Financial Institutions at the West Afri-can Development Bank (BOAD), and Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee.
Also in attendance will be the other members of the steering committee from the ECOWAS Commission and BOAD, as well as World Bank representatives, in their capacity as observers. During the meeting, the Steering Committee members will have to review the activities carried out in 2022 and validate the 2023 draft work plan and budget as submitted by the project teams.
Recall that the aim of ROGEAP is to increase access to sustainable energy services for house-holds, businesses, public hospitals, and schools in the 15 ECOWAS Member States (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, the Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo) and in four other African countries (Maurita-nia, Central African Republic, Cameroon and Chad), using stand-alone solar systems. The 338.7-million-dollar project is funded by the World Bank, Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and Nether-land Cooperation (DGIS).
The Project Management Unit of the ECOWAS Commission in collaboration with the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) and the West African Develop-ment Bank (BOAD) are responsible for the implementation of the project’s regional market development component and access to funding for stand-alone solar products component, respectively.
